💎 I Got My Piercings Back…Then My Thrift-Store Radar Went Off
What started as a quick after-work errand turned into another Palm Beach County thrift-store mission. Ted should know better by now. 😂
Mission accomplished! 💎✨
After work, I finally replaced my missing piercings.
This had been on my list for a while, and naturally I had turned it into a much bigger production in my head than it actually was.
The whole thing was so quick that I’m pretty sure I spent more time looking for parking than actually getting pierced. 😂
Done.
New piercings. Happy Aidalyn.
Time to go home.
Or so Ted thought.
🚨 My Thrift-Store Radar Has Entered the Chat
Ted and I were walking back toward the car when something happened.
My radar went off.
Not weather radar.
Not emergency radar.
Thrift-store radar. 🚨👀
If you’re a fellow thrift-store hunter, you know exactly what I’m talking about.
You can be driving down a road you’ve traveled a hundred times when suddenly, out of the corner of your eye:
THRIFT STORE.
Everything else disappears.
I spotted one I hadn’t explored before, right here in Palm Beach County.
I gasped. 😱
I smiled. 😍
I immediately started calculating how much time I had available to investigate.
And then I saw the hours.
CLOSED.
😭💔
🛍️ The Absolute Disrespect
Excuse me?
How dare a thrift store close before I have had the opportunity to lovingly inspect every rack?
There could be a $6 designer blouse in there.
A fabulous handbag nobody else noticed.
A pair of shoes waiting for me.
Or, more realistically, another coffee mug I absolutely do not need but will somehow convince myself has been missing from my life. ☕😂
We’ll never know.
At least, not today.
😎 Meanwhile, Ted Was Having the Best Day of His Life
I looked at Ted.
The man was not devastated.
Not even a little.
In fact, I detected something suspiciously close to…
relief.
😂
Because Ted knows what happens when I say:
“I’m just going to look really quick.”
There is no really quick.
Really quick becomes:
“Let me check this rack.”
Then:
“Wait, there’s another room.”
Followed by:
“Hold on. I haven’t looked at the handbags yet.”
Meanwhile, Ted is sitting in the car, reconsidering every decision that led him to this moment. 🚘😂
But this time?
He escaped.
For one glorious evening, the thrift store was closed and Ted didn’t have to spend an hour waiting for me while I searched every aisle convinced I was seconds away from finding a $10 designer handbag.
Enjoy your victory, Money Boss.
Because…
😈 This Weekend Is a Different Story
I’ve already established the priorities.
❌ Grocery shopping.
❌ Cleaning the house.
❌ Being responsible.
✅ Return to the thrift store.
✅ Hunt for hidden treasures.
✅ Search for things I didn’t know I needed.
✅ Test Ted’s patience once again.
😂❤️
And honestly, that’s half the fun of thrifting.
You never know what’s going to be there.
Maybe nothing.
Maybe something ridiculous.
Or maybe that one fabulous find that makes you walk out thinking:
HOW did nobody else grab this?!
That’s what keeps me going back.
💕 To Be Continued…
So the mission isn’t over.
It’s merely been postponed.
We’ll be returning this weekend, and I fully intend to investigate the situation properly.
Wish us luck.
One of us is extremely excited about this mission.
And it’s definitely not the guy in the passenger seat. 🤣🚗💕
