Cruising: Ports, Sea Days & Why I Keep Coming Back
Cruising with Ted gives us new ports, relaxing sea days, good food, beautiful views — and since he handles the bill, it works out especially well for me.
Cruising has become one of those trips Ted and I really enjoy together. It gives us new destinations, ocean views, good food, time to relax, and the fun of waking up somewhere different. And since Ted handles the bill, I’d say cruising works out especially well for me.
One of my favorite parts of cruising with Ted is opening the curtains in the morning and seeing a completely different port outside. Some days we’re ready to get off the ship and explore, and other days we’re perfectly happy slowing down and taking in the view.
Why I Love Cruise Port Days
Port days are where the adventure really starts. Ted and I enjoy seeing new places, walking through local areas, trying food, taking tours, and discovering things we probably wouldn’t have found on our own. Even a short stop can turn into one of the memories we talk about later.
My Favorite Cruise Port Tours & Excursions 🚢✨
One of my favorite parts of cruising is waking up somewhere new. A good shore excursion can make a port day so much easier, especially when you want to experience the highlights without spending hours figuring everything out yourself.
I’ve put together some cruise-port tours and experiences worth checking out—from sightseeing and cultural experiences to beach days and adventures.

Why Sea Days Are Part of the Fun
I also love the sea days. There’s something nice about having nowhere we absolutely have to be. Ted and I can enjoy a good meal, ocean views, a little shopping, people-watching, or simply sitting somewhere comfortable and doing absolutely nothing for a while.
Cruising works well for us because we unpack once and let the ship do the traveling. We get the excitement of visiting different destinations without constantly packing, checking into hotels, and figuring out transportation. That balance makes the trip feel easier and more enjoyable.
What keeps bringing Ted and me back to cruising is the combination of adventure and comfort — new ports, quiet sea days, good food, beautiful views, laughs along the way, and time together. Ted pays, I pack. It’s a system.
If you’re planning a cruise too, you can see the cruise essentials I actually pack to make our trips more comfortable and organized.
