Best Restaurants & Bars in Delray Beach: A Local’s Guide

A Delray Beach local shares her favorite restaurants, bars, brunch spots, happy hours and nightlife—with plenty of opinions and parking advice. 🌴🍷

🏨 Staying in Delray Beach? I’ve rounded up some of my favorite places to stay, from beachfront hotels to spots right near Atlantic Avenue.

When my girlfriends ask me about the best restaurants in Delray Beach, I’m thinking about more than whether the food photographs well.

Is the food actually good? What’s the atmosphere like? Can we hear each other talk? Where are we parking? Is it worth dealing with Atlantic Avenue during the season? And, most importantly, where are we going afterward? 🍷💃

Delray Beach has everything from cozy little neighborhood restaurants and longtime local favorites to waterfront brunch, wine bars, Italian restaurants, live music, and shiny new places everyone suddenly has an opinion about.

This isn’t a ranking from #1 to #38.

Some of these places I frequent. Some are where I take visiting friends. Some are better for brunch, date night or girls’ night. And there are a few getting plenty of local buzz that I haven’t personally tried yet—and I’ll tell you when that’s the case.

Because I’m not going to pretend I ate somewhere just because Google says it’s fabulous. 💅

So consider this my ever-growing little black book of where to eat, drink and have fun in Delray Beach.

And yes, we’re going to talk about parking.

Because in Delray Beach, the restaurant is only half the battle. 😂

🍷 My Delray Beach Favorites

🍽️ Jimmy’s Bistro

Jimmy’s Bistro is one of those cozy Delray places I keep coming back to. The food and service are great, and I almost always order the swordfish.

One of the little things I love is the menu displayed on the wall. It’s cute, a little different, and fits the intimate neighborhood feel of the restaurant.

Now, let’s discuss parking—because apparently I’ve appointed myself Delray Beach’s unofficial parking correspondent. 😂

We used to look for street parking, but with all the newer development around downtown, I usually prefer a nearby valet or public parking option. I’ve seen some private lots around Delray charging as much as $25, and I’m sorry, but at that price, my car better be having dinner too.

Aidalyn’s pick: Swordfish 🐟
Best for: Cozy dinner • Date night • Dinner with friends
Would I recommend it? Absolutely.

🇫🇷 La Cigale

La Cigale is one of my all-time favorite French restaurants in Delray Beach.

And when I say favorite, I mean this isn’t somewhere I discovered last Tuesday because Instagram told me to go there. It’s one of those restaurants that has earned its place on my personal Delray list.

It’s a great choice when you want a proper dinner, good food and an atmosphere where you can actually sit down and enjoy the evening.

Sometimes I don’t want trendy. I want good.

Best for: Date night • French food • Special occasions • Dinner with friends
Would I recommend it? Absolutely.

Caffe Luna Rosa

Luna Rosa has great food, and I’ve had excellent experiences with their wine dinners.

It’s also somewhere I’d happily take friends for brunch.

Another thing I appreciate is their support for nonprofits and community organizations. I pay attention to businesses that actually participate in the community they make money from.

Best for: Brunch • dinner • wine • visitors • beach area

My verdict: Definitely.

Le Colonial

Le Colonial has become one of the places my girlfriends and I hang out quite a lot.

It’s beautiful, sophisticated and perfect when we want a proper girls’ dinner rather than someplace where we’re yelling across the table.

It’s located at 601 E. Atlantic Avenue, right in downtown Delray. There is valet and covered-garage parking in the area.

My verdict: Definitely recommend.

Best for: Girls’ night • date night • visitors • special occasions

Local tip: Don’t automatically start circling Atlantic Avenue looking for a miracle parking space. Know your garage and valet options before you arrive.

Enigma Bistro

Enigma is a little removed from Atlantic Avenue, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

The food and ambiance are good, and it’s a small husband-and-wife business—which is part of what I like about it.

During season, service can sometimes be tricky because it’s a smaller operation handling the South Florida seasonal rush.

I give them some grace.

If you’re expecting a giant corporate restaurant with 47 employees running around, this isn’t that.

Best for: Quiet dinner • date night • supporting an independent local business

My verdict: Yes, with a little patience during the season.

Deck 84

Deck 84 is casual, waterfront and an easy recommendation when someone visiting Delray wants that Florida feeling.

I particularly like Sunday brunch.

And the make-your-own vodka drink situation?

Yes.

Apparently after a certain age they trust us with the alcohol. 🍸😂

Best for: Sunday brunch • waterfront • casual groups • visitors

My verdict: Great casual choice.

🥂 Girls’ Night, Celebrations & Dinner With Friends

🍷 Barcelona Wine Bar

Barcelona is fairly new to Delray Beach, and so far I’ve seen plenty of local support.

I recently went there for a girlfriend’s divorce party.

Yes. Divorce party. 🥂😂

And you know what? Sometimes we’re not mourning—we’re ordering tapas.

The atmosphere works really well for groups because you can share food, have some wine and make an evening of it.

There’s underground parking, which I appreciate. Although I’m still waiting to see how the whole situation performs during one of our dramatic Florida summer rainstorms.

Because Florida doesn’t really do “light rain.” It does sunshine…sunshine…END OF DAYS…sunshine. 😂

Best for: Girls’ night • Celebrations • Groups • Wine & tapas
Aidalyn’s verdict: So far, so good.

🌹 Rose’s Daughter

Rose’s Daughter is another good Delray choice, especially when I’m in the mood for Italian.

It’s located in Pineapple Grove, so you’re still close to downtown without necessarily being right in the middle of Atlantic Avenue madness.

It’s a nice choice for dinner with friends or a date night when you want something that feels a little more neighborhood and a little less tourist-central.

Best for: Italian • Girls’ night • Date night • Dinner with friends
Aidalyn’s verdict: Recommend.

🏠 Dada

Dada is one of those restaurants I’d tell someone visiting Delray to try because the experience feels uniquely Delray.

It’s set in an old house rather than a typical restaurant space, which gives the place character before you’ve even ordered anything.

This is a good one when someone says:

“Take me somewhere interesting.”

Not everything needs marble floors and a chandelier the size of my first apartment. 😂

Best for: Visitors • Dinner with friends • Cocktails • Date night
Aidalyn’s verdict: Definitely worth trying.

🇮🇹 When I’m Craving Italian

Tramonti Ristorante

Tramonti is one of the places I’d choose for a nicer Italian dinner on Atlantic Avenue.

It’s more of an occasion restaurant for me than a casual “let’s grab something” place.

Best for: Date night • Italian dinner • visitors • celebrations

Sazio

And here’s a little local backup plan.

If something goes sideways with dinner plans around Tramonti—or you happen to arrive late—Sazio is right nearby and worth knowing about.

Sometimes the best local knowledge isn’t where did you make the reservation?

It’s:

Where are we going when the reservation goes to hell? 😂

CASA L’ACQUA Ristorante Italiano

CASA L’ACQUA is another Italian option I like.

Good for when you want dinner to feel a little more special, and valet parking is a definite plus in my book.

Best for: Italian • date night • special occasions

My verdict: Recommend.

Le Sorelle

Le Sorelle has good food, service and ambiance.

My warning here isn’t about dinner.

It’s about parking.

There is paid parking nearby, so don’t arrive assuming you’ll casually slide into a free space directly in front of the restaurant like you’re the mayor of Delray Beach.

Plan accordingly. 😂

🌊 Brunch, Beach & Waterfront

Caffe Luna Rosa

Deck 84

Sandbar

Sandbar gives you exactly what you’d expect from the name:

Beachy vibe.

This is where you go when you don’t need white tablecloths and just want to feel like you’re actually in South Florida.

Best for: Beach drinks • casual afternoon • visitors

Boston’s on the Beach

If Florida decides it’s approximately 147 degrees outside and you don’t feel like melting for the sake of atmosphere, head inside.

I particularly like going upstairs.

The view is spectacular.

Sometimes air conditioning and an ocean view are all a woman needs.

Best for: Ocean views • casual food • escaping Florida heat

Drift

Drift at the Opal Grand has been making its mark, and I’ve also noticed its support of nonprofit events around town.

That’s something you’ll hear me mention repeatedly because community involvement matters to me.

Best for: Hotel dining • drinks • visitors • brunch

🥂 Wine, Happy Hour & “Just One Drink”

We all know how “just one drink” ends.

But let’s pretend.

The Wine Room Kitchen & Bar

The Wine Room is one of my choices when I want to taste wine rather than commit immediately to a bottle.

There is a large wine selection and a good variety of cheeses—which frankly sounds like a complete meal to me.

I’ve also enjoyed the Sunday brunch atmosphere with live music.

Best for: Wine tasting • cheese • girls’ afternoon • Sunday brunch

My verdict: Wine girls, put it on the list.

The Ray Hotel

The Ray is a wonderful place for happy hour.

It also gives you an excuse to wander around Pineapple Grove, which has developed into its own little destination within downtown Delray.

Best for: Happy hour • girlfriends • visitors

Delray Hideaway

Delray Hideaway is another local gem for happy hour.

It’s less about dressing up and more about having a relaxed local place to go.

Best for: Local happy hour • casual drinks • laid-back night

The Office

The Office is right on Atlantic Avenue.

Personally, I’d go during the week.

Downtown Delray changes personality once the weekend crowds arrive, and sometimes I want dinner and a drink—not participation in the Hunger Games.

Best for: Weekday lunch/dinner • drinks • people-watching

Hurricane Bar & Lounge

Another casual Atlantic Avenue stop.

Parking tip: Look behind the building around the small alley area rather than automatically fighting Atlantic Avenue traffic.

Again:

I provide important journalism. 😂

🎶 Live Music & When We’re Not Going Home Yet

Johnnie Brown’s

Johnnie Brown’s is one of the places I associate with live music in downtown Delray.

You can eat elsewhere, walk down Atlantic Avenue and suddenly decide the evening isn’t finished.

This is how trouble begins.

Best for: Live music • nightlife • groups

Tin Roof

Tin Roof is lively and known for entertainment.

They’ve had Tuesday karaoke, too.

This isn’t where I’m sending you for an intimate conversation.

This is where I’m sending you when somebody in your group thinks she can sing Whitney Houston.

She cannot.

But we’re supporting her anyway. 🎤😂

Best for: Karaoke • live music • nightlife • groups

Good Night John Boy

Good Night John Boy is the bomb for disco.

That’s my review.

Put on something cute and go dance.

Best for: Disco • dancing • girls’ night • remembering that we’re not dead yet 💃

Bounce

Bounce is quite noisy for me.

That doesn’t mean it’s a bad place.

It means if you’re looking for somewhere energetic and loud, you may love it.

If you’re trying to hear your girlfriend explain what her ex-husband did this week…

Maybe not. 😂

My verdict: Depends on your noise tolerance.

🍕 Casual Local Stops

Windy City Pizza

Windy City Pizza is a mother-and-son operation with Chicago roots.

If you’re ordering the deep-dish pizza:

CALL AHEAD.

Deep dish takes time. Do not arrive starving and then become emotionally unstable when your pizza isn’t ready in nine minutes.

I also appreciate their support of local nonprofits.

Best for: Pizza • casual dinner • families • groups

El Camino

For some reason, I always seem to get seated at El Camino regardless of when I show up.

I’m not questioning the universe. 😂

It’s lively, casual and right in downtown Delray.

Warning: Parking.

That’s all I’m going to say.

Best for: Mexican • margaritas • groups • casual night

Tim Finnegans Irish Pub

Sometimes you don’t need glamorous Delray.

You need an Irish pub.

Tim Finnegans fills that role nicely.

Best for: Pub atmosphere • casual drinks • Irish food

🍣 My Sushi + Self-Care Combination

Sushi Thai Fusion

I frequent Sushi Thai Fusion.

You can eat while waiting for your nail appointment.

Or eat first and get your fancy nails afterward.

And while we’re apparently designing an entire self-care afternoon, there’s also Tao & Zen Crystal Foot Spa nearby.

So:

🍣 Sushi
💅 Nails
🦶 Foot spa

That is not lunch.

That is an itinerary.

You’re welcome.

☕ Breakfast & Pastry Stops

Green Owl

Green Owl has been in Delray for what feels like forever.

It’s an old-school local breakfast place, and I love that we still have businesses like this while shiny new restaurants appear every five minutes.

Best for: Breakfast • local atmosphere

The French Bakery

Another breakfast option I like.

There’s limited seating inside, and parking can be challenging.

Translation:

Don’t show up hungry, late, and already irritated.

This is Delray. We plan. 😂

Paris Baguette

When I’m craving pastries, Paris Baguette does the job.

Coffee, pastries, cakes—simple.

Sometimes we don’t need a lifestyle experience.

We need a croissant.

🎮 Do Something Besides Eat

Because apparently we cannot spend the entire weekend moving from restaurant to restaurant.

Challenge accepted.

Silverball Retro Arcade

Silverball is one of those Delray places that’s fun because it’s different.

It’s a retro arcade, bar, restaurant and event space, so it’s an easy option when you want an activity instead of another sit-down dinner.

Best for: Groups • dates • visitors • rainy days

PopStroke

PopStroke is miniature golf, but I especially recommend it for groups and parties.

They regularly host group events, and it’s a fun alternative when you’ve already had enough brunches for one weekend.

Best for: Friends • birthdays • group parties • casual dates

👀 Places On My List

I want to make something very clear about Life With Aidalyn:

I’m not going to tell you I personally recommend somewhere I haven’t personally tried.

Revolutionary concept on the internet, apparently. 😂

But I will tell you what’s getting local attention.

Hyde Park Prime Steakhouse

I haven’t eaten here yet, but locals have been talking about it.

Hyde Park currently offers steak and seafood, happy hour during the week, live entertainment on several nights, and valet/garage options.

It’s officially on my list.

Status: Locals are talking. Aidalyn still needs to investigate. 🕵️‍♀️🍷

The Seagate

I’ve been familiar with The Seagate, but I haven’t eaten at the restaurant since its renovation.

I’ve heard local chatter about the steak, so this is another one I’m planning to revisit before giving you my own verdict.

Status: Revisit required.

Frank Pepe Pizzeria Napoletana

Frank Pepe needs to be explored.

Period.

Status: Assignment accepted. 🍕

🌴 This Guide Will Keep Changing

Delray Beach doesn’t sit still for very long. Restaurants open, menus change, parking changes, old favorites evolve and suddenly there’s another new place everyone insists I have to try.

So I’ll keep updating this guide as I revisit favorites and discover new ones.

If I recommend somewhere, I want you to know why I recommend it—not because it happened to appear on somebody else’s “Top 10” list.

And if you’re a Delray local and think I’ve missed somewhere fabulous, tell me.

Just understand that if you send me somewhere terrible, I’m remembering your name. 😂
